Peter Townend, was social editor of the Tatler and editor of Burke's Peerage. After debutantes ceased being presented at court in 1958, he was responsible for keeping the "Debs season" going for another 40 years (per Daily Telegraph). He died in 2001 and we found several letters addressed to him in an auction lot of ephemera in Cardiff
