This postcard was among photos relating to a visit to Germany in 1937, The Brunswick lion is at the south end of the Konigsallee moat in Dusseldorf. At the base of the lion is a metal plaque bearing the Nazi eagle. The statue was presumably destroyed during bombing or later by Allied troops , as it looks different to the Bergische lion statue, which now occupies this position, and more like a Brunswick lion
